I like russty spooons...

Anyone heard of Salad Fingers? Nope, me neither...until a few weeks ago. Apparently he ruled the youtube cyberwaves in 2005, so how I missed such a sensation, I wouldn't know...

Anyway...

Probably the creepiest, most perverse character I've ever made, unless any of you out there fancies a challenge and think you can find someone stranger? Let's up the stakes a bit with a little video...

A local film-maker requested him as a commission, saying that it's 'for my girlfriend's birthday, she's a huge fan of the cartoon character, Salad Fingers'. I think it's such a meaningful gesture, and shows he's gave it loads of thought, to commission a gift specially for his bosom buddy *But no, Andy... I wouldn't like you to commission a sock doll for my birthday, 'cos I can make these myself...What? 'That means I can make my own pressie', do I hear you say?...Erm. No. 'Cos that would just be a bit rubbish.* Personally, I might have been a bit worried that she was so keen on Salad Fingers, and Bri did mention at least once that he might also have to book her in for some therapy *meh* *orrrrh...* *HirK*

Maybe this will help...

He was left playing with his spoons in a corner till someone came to pick him up.

The Story of the Mushroom Dress, cont'd...

Once upon a time... (this really has become a once-upon-a-time story) since I first posted on Facebook about this 'fly agaric' sock I picked a whole month ago!

Wow, time really flies...but I'm finally ready to continue with my Story of the Mushroom Dress, since I now know how it ends...hehe...

Okay. The other day, I wandered into a field of cotton socks where I picked this fly agaric.

'Know what a fly agaric is?

It's one of those red toadstools with white spots that gnomes and fairies and hookah-smoking caterpillars sit on in Wonderland.

Here's one I saw in the woodland near my home... I love funghi but I didn't pick it... not at all, no way!

'Thing is... Alice ate two sides of the toadstool and started having hallucinations of mad hatters, rodents having tea and fighting off packs of cards!

See? That's what happens when you go around listening to hookah-smoking caterpillars.

Magic mushrooms are obviously not a good diet...

My 'Alice' is really a girl named Sarah. The fly agaric was a spotty strawberry sock that I picked, and made into a dress for her birthday.

Ta-DAAAAH!!! You like? *does a twirl*

Her fairy pressie-buying-mother has a keen eye for cherry-picking the very best (*nudge nudge wink* heehee!) so I thought she'd appreciate the strawberry dress for her princess.

I prefer to call this a homage...LV, Ferragamo and Burberry are appearing at Grammy's this year!

Plus another designer whose name I can't remember...

This year's Grammy will be very glitzy!

Grammy must really like my design sense *beams with pride & joy* because she got me to design everything for the attendees of what looks to be THE birthday event of the year!

The commission started off with Grammy and her 2 daughters, then expanded to Sarah's husband and daughter

followed by their dog, Sasha!

Then, Sarah found out she was pregnant, so the little baby appeared too!!

Grammy sent me some wonderful pictures of the party afterwards, with her email that reads:

'Dear Su, We had a big gathering of brothers sisters aunts uncles and everybody laughed and laughed at the dolls!  Here are some pics.... Sarah was delighted and Heng thought it was such a scream ....Faith kept flipping the toys around ....'

Here's one of the photos:

Ooops! Looks like baby will be a blooey, not a pinkie, but it was a little hard to know at the time...

Sounds like a happily ever after to me...ahhh...*sits back to relax*

The End...for now!

Epilogue: If you wish to view more pictures and read more about the design process, please drop by my Facebook page. I'll be posting them up soon!
